What inspires the composer's vision? What sparks the listener's imagination? In David Kechley's Wakeful Visions/Moonless Dreams (2009), Kechley found inspiration in four pieces of literature: the Bible, Japanese haiku, Shakespeare and Proust.   Ralph Vaughan Williams was intrigued by the sights and sounds of his beloved city, from its Hansom cabs to the chimes of Westminster Cathedral, and depicts these in his London Symphony.

Join Maestro Jonathan McPhee and Longwood Symphony Orchestra for this Boston premiere by David Kechley and Vaughan Williams' Symphony No. 2 in an evening of Imagery and Inspiration.  Click here for the complete program notes.
