John Hecker, French Horn
John has been a member of the horn section, an LSO board member, as well as the orchestra’s librarian for approximately 14 years. He is an architect specializing in the preservation and restoration of historic buildings, having received advanced training at the UNESCO-sponsored International Centre for Conservation in Rome, Italy. After graduating from the Interlochen Arts Academy as a trombone player, John’s musical training continued as a college student. Sitting behind the horn section for many years eventually inspired him to begin studying the horn in mid-life.
